Bowman County Planning and Zoning
The Department of Planning and Zoning is responsible for administration of the Bowman County zoning and subdivision regulations, staff support to the Bowman County Planning and Zoning Board, and long-range planning for land use and development in Bowman County.

County Planning & Zoning Minutes
November 12, 2020

The Bowman County Planning and Zoning Commission met in regular session on November 12, 2020.
Members present: Lynn Brackel, Jerid Janikowski, Jerry Jeffers, Doyle Kruger, Michael Sondeland, and Myron Vail. Members absent: Rod Schaff and Ryan Shear. Also present Co-Zoning Directors, Dean Pearson and Jodi Freier. No guests were present.
Chairman Janikowski called the meeting to order at 6:00 pm.
Vail made a motion to approve the agenda with an addition to discuss expiring board terms. Kruger seconded the motion.
Sondeland made a motion to approve the minutes from October 8, 2020, with Brackel seconding the motion.
Old Business:
Brackel stated the Public Hearing for the Operation and Maintenance of, Solar Energy Systems (SES) for the Bowman County Planning and Zoning Ordinance will be held, as per North Dakota Century Code 11-33-08 and 11-33-09, during the County Commission meeting on November 17th, 2020 at 10 AM.
New Business:
Discussion was held on protective covenants in the North Butte Addition in Scranton. The board would like to invite representatives from Gascoyne City, Rhame City, and Scranton City to their January meeting to discuss city covenant and individual city zoning regulations.
Discussion was held on board member’s whose terms will be expiring December 31, 2020. Those members are Myron Vail, Ryan Shear, and Rod Schaff. If they are interested in staying on another term, they can complete a citizen interest form and submit to the Bowman County Commission.
With no further business to discuss Brackel made a motion to adjourn the meeting at 6:54 pm, with Vail seconding the motion.

Discussion was held on updating the Bowman County Planning and Zoning Ordinance/ Comprehensive Plan and updating zoning applications and permits with no motions made.
